This could be a very important and educational document for many to read regarding part of the history of protecting Mauna Kea, opposing the telescopes, and what has been done in the past to neutralize those efforts. Very unveiling, this was, for myself.

A message recounting part of the history of protecting Mauna Kea.
“The proposal to build the Thirty Meter Telescope on Mauna Kea takes place in a context of opposition to such telescopes stretching back for years. The Kahuna of the Temple of Lono asked me to share part of that history.
“While there is much more to tell of this tale, the ultimate outcome was that the outrigger telescopes were cancelled. [“Judge reverses permit for new Hawaiian telescopes“, New Scientist.com, August, 2006] That cancellation was nine years ago.”
