Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma Police Shoot Burglary Suspect For Refusing to Exit Car

(Before It's News)

Late Tuesday morning a seventy year old man came home to find a burglary in progress. He chased the intruder, 32 year old Erick Rose, off with a gun by foot and then in a vehicle chase. Police soon relieved the man and took up the chase themselves. The suspect attempted to elude officers at high speeds which led to him crashing his vehicle. When he refused to leave his vehicle, an officer shot the man, who later died in the hospital.

An investigation by state police agencies has begun, while the deputies name is not being released at this time. While there are not a lot of facts yet regarding the incident I am pretty sure that refusal to get out of a wrecked car stuck in a ditch is not generally considered legal or moral grounds for killing somebody, regardless of what crime they have been accused of.
