One human being’s capacity to do harm to another horrifies, yet fascinates us. Perhaps that is why true crime, as a literary genre and as a subject of television programming and website content, is so very popular. We don’t want to believe that people can do the horrible things they do, but we sure want to know the gory details. Here are ten websites dedicated to true crimes.
10. Unsolved Crimes
Unsolved Crimes
The site is dedicated to helping close the files of unsolved crimes. Their aim is to not allow the victims to die twice: once in the field and second time on file. The site is run by a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting families who have lost a loved one to violent crime.

8. American Police Beat
Police arrest
The website can be best described as the ONLY law enforcement publication for the public safety professional that people want to read. What makes them different is their commitment to superb editorial, great visuals, and keeping people’s attention by engaging them with an entertaining magazine that speaks to their world and their needs.

7. FBI Fugitive Page
Wanted By the FBI
We start with this site because it is the absolute word in TRUE crime. Meaning, the fugitives featured on this site are actually wanted by the FBI. There isn’t a lot of flowery prose (it’s a government website) and there is no speculation whatsoever. So, while it might not totally fit the genre, it is the authority on who is wanted by the FBI right now, and it makes you realize that there are a lot of crimes out there that never even make the news.

6. True Crime Tales
True Crime Tales
This site features most of the classics – the serial killers, the unsolved crimes, and a lot of factoids about crime in general. All the content is written by this one dude (or dudette) named R. Brooks, so you get the facts from someone’s perspective, which is kind of nice, since this person has obviously spend a lot of time studying and compiling this material.
