Can you imagine living in a world where your every economic move is tracked and traced and completely reliant on computers?

Via RT:

With Denmark moving towards a completely cash-free economy there has been a heated debate between the experts who think it’s a natural thing caused by technological development and those who warn that total traceability has a dark side.

The Danish government has proposed that certain businesses such as petrol stations, restaurants and clothes retailers should no longer be legally required to accept cash. Moreover, a third of the Danish population already uses a mobile payment app when making transactions…

“Denmark and Sweden are trying to force-feed a cashless society on a legacy digital world that is very corrupt. Most systems have old legacy code. They have not been written with open source security from the beginning. So frankly I wouldn’t trust most systems.

“I wouldn’t trust most systems…”

Famous last words.

And who says we should trust any of these systems? Headlines today are declaring that not just a few, but millions of smart grid devices are open to cyberattacks, and that smart grid security is basically a joke. Bitcoin seems like a good idea on the surface, but there are too many instances where accounts get hacked, money gets stolen, or worse, people get scammed out of millions. Why?

Because it’s all online… it is intangible. You can’t physically hold it in your hand, therefore, you can’t physically protect it.

Not that fiat currency is so much better, but this is going to be so much worse.

Outside of the potential for cyberattacks and hackers, we will live in a world where corporations and governments will control every person’s every financial move with a push of a button, or worse, they will digitize and automate nearly everything and just sit back and let computers run the show.

Wasn’t this something we were warned about in that ’90s movie with Sandra Bullock, The Net?

Quick plot description:

The life of a young computer systems analyst is thrown into turmoil when she finds her credit cards useless, her bank account empty, and her identity stolen.

Yep, that pretty much sums up all the reasons why this is a really, really bad idea, and that’s before we get to the part where they want to force everyone into a biometric system where you have to get a retinal scan or heartbeat verification just to buy groceries or get a trendy barcode tattoo some have called the mark of the beast to authenticate your body like a password because regular passwords simply aren’t secure enough…

Sound ridiculous? That stuff is already here, it’s already being field tested and used in some places.

With everything on the technocratic control grid horizon, our coming smart grid cashless society is not just going to be like The Net; I think it’ll be more like In Time meets The Net meets Gattaca meets Hunger Games meets Terminator meets Blade Runner meets The Matrix meets Idiocracy.

Use cash… while you still can.
