(Before It's News)

The video above was taken while I was out CopBlocking a checkpoint in Columbus, OH a few weeks ago. While getting some footage at the actual checkpoint, I was notified that my car would be towed from the Speedway parking lot I had parked in. I assume that the police, who were shadowing us that night, pointed out our parking spots to the store manager after they contacted police because another CopBlocker was open carrying on their property. Seems the store manager didn’t know about open carry laws, but didn’t waste the moment by instructing police to have us move our vehicles. They could have just asked us ourselves.

maxresdefault (1)While on my way back to the Speedway the cars at the intersection were at a red light. Since there was minimal traffic coming from the turn lanes, I cut across the road about 20 feet from the cross walk. As I got into the Speedway parking lot, a Columbus Police SUV came racing into the parking lot (which, IMO, was more dangerous to others than me crossing the road). The officer quickly jumped out and demands my ID because I had just ‘jaywalked.’ I stated that I’m 32 years old and I know how to safely cross the road but that didn’t matter to the officer, because logic rarely works on such types, and he started to write me a ticket.

It was an interesting exchange as I asked these cops, as many were there already after the manager called about someone on the property with a gun, if they felt good about what they were doing that day. I also inquired how they were keeping me safe from being hit by a car while crossing the road by issuing me a ticket – after I had already safely crossed the road. None of them could clarify my confusion of how giving them money would make me safe when crossing the road. Of course, they didn’t have the answer and the officer who ticketed me kept saying he wasn’t “going to debate” with me. Probably, because he knew he wouldn’t have won such a debate and that his actions were that of a tyrant.

I didn’t go to court, nor do I intend to pay this ticket, if the Columbus police want to take money from me they’re going to have to do it by force. Or they’ll have to force taxpayers to pay when they lock me up for failure to pay this extortion ticket. Either way, I don’t care, because I know how to safely cross the road and cops shouldn’t be worrying about things like this. I know I’m not.
