Matthew
In a rather bizarre story, Livingston, LA police went to check on Matthew Peyronnin after ‘a girl’ called them to report that he might hurt himself. When police arrived they failed to announce their presence, offering not even the courtesy of a simple knock on the door. Instead they crept around the house and were then mistaken as burglars by Matthew. According to 9 WAFB:
Matthew Peyronnin’s mother says it all started when her son sent a picture of a gun and a threat that he was going to hurt himself to a girl. The girl called 911 and the deputies went to the home for a welfare check.
Matthew’s mother says her son did not know who was in the front yard, and no one identified themselves when they knocked on the door, and that is why he was holding the shotgun.
“He came and woke me up. At this time I was sleeping on the couch and he said ‘mom, mom I believe someone’s trying to get into the house. I think it’s a couple of people.’ I get up. He opens the door. He has his gun to his side and Livingston Parish just opened fire and shot my son four times,” said Matthew’s mother Tabatha Peyronnin.
Louisiana State Police said deputies arrived at the scene and made contact with Peyronnin on the front porch of the residence, at which time Peyronnin raised a shotgun in the direction of the deputies. Confronted with the weapon, a deputy with LPSO fired and struck Peyronnin several times.
Tabatha claims the deputies did not say they were with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office or why they were there until after the shots were fired.
“We think it was a misunderstanding. It doesn’t justify the police coming to my home and my son was in his home trying to protect his family and he got shot four times,” said Tabatha.
There are several lessons to be learned here. First of all, NEVER CALL THE POLICE. If you’re worried about your friend or loved one, go and check on them yourself. Or send another friend. But NEVER-EVER call the police to do it. Secondly, NEVER CALL THE POLICE! How many people have to get shot by police for stupid reasons before people understand that every time you call the police, somebody could die? I seriously hope you get the point. It is a really a bad idea to call the cops.
[Go ahead CopSuckers, tell me to call a crackhead instead, because I’m calling this guy.]
Now that we’ve got that out of the way…
I find it shocking that Matthew’s mother (seen in the video below) is chalking this up as ‘just a misunderstanding’. It is most certainly a misunderstanding of the definition for ‘welfare check’, an activity in which police go to see if a person needs help. That does not necessitate sneaking up on the concerned party and their property like a thief. To ice the insanity cake, police have stated that they will charge Matthew with the attempted murder, second degree, of a cop. Yes, you read that correctly. For having the courage and bravery to defend his mother from what he believed to be intruders, Matthew will be charged with a serious crime that they are actually guilty of.
Despite the fact that the police failed to announce themselves before or after they stealthily approached the house and that Matthew did not shoot at any of these sneaky chickenshit pigs, he will be jailed immediately following his hospitalization. Even though he never so much as aimed or fired his weapon at officers (who actually did shoot him four times) he will be unjustly punished, so that the lying, greasy badgeheads do not have to admit to wrongdoing or be held accountable for shamelessly breaking the laws they are supposed to uphold and enforce. Ladies and gentleman, this is what a Police State looks like. It is utterly perplexing that Tabatha thinks that this incident was merely a ‘misunderstanding’. Unless what she meant was that it indicates a misunderstanding by police of what they are supposed to be doing, as compared to what they actually do. If that is the case, spot on, Tabatha!
