Had it not been for his mishandling of a firearm, a robber who targeted a Boston apartment Sunday may have gotten away with his crime, but instead he ended up in the hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the foot.
Four men, three of who were armed with knives and the fourth armed with a shotgun, broke into the apartment apparently looking for drugs. The girlfriend of the resident, who was staying the night, said the suspects kicked in his roommate’s padlocked door.
The suspects ransacked the room and took off with several bags of marijuana, but while making their escape, the suspect with the shotgun inadvertently fired the gun and shot himself.
Witnesses were able to get a license plate number from the getaway car, and a short time later, the suspect, who was only identified as a 19-year-old male, showed up at the hospital for treatment of the self-inflicted gunshot wound, and was subsequently arrested.
The remaining three suspects are still at large.
