The culture of death is alive and well at the Netherlands’ Life End Clinic —- aided by a judicial order that a dementia patient be euthanized by lethal injection in accordance with her family’s wishes.

But it’s not just the judiciary that views less than perfect life with such blatant disregard.

A majority —- 52 percent —- of Dutch doctors who perform euthanasia say they would euthanize dementia patients.

Not to miss a trick, the facility thoughtfully includes a mobile service for those who prefer the patient die at home.

According to the Ministry of Justice Termination of Life on Request and Assisted Suicide (Review Procedures) Act in Practice, Question 14:

“A doctor’s main duty is indeed to preserve life. In the case of euthanasia a doctor’s duties conflict: on the one hand, doctors have a duty to do all they can to keep the patient alive. On the other hand, they have a duty to relieve the patient’s suffering.”
