Allergies can make anyone’s life miserable including you. It can be caused due to environmental factors as well as internal ones. This post is focused on sharing with you some of the weirdest allergies that are rare, but real.  Here are 10 of the most bizarre allergies you be aware of as they are known to occur:

10. Everything except Water

Being allergic to nuts and shell fish is one thing, but imagine being allergic to just about everything foods & beverages other than water. This condition is known as eosinophilic enteropathy and can happen once in a blue moon. However when ti does, the allergy causes ulcers, inflammation and polyps to develop in the gastrointestinal tract and can be found in both adults and children.

9. Deodarant

Some people are just dirty and smelly; B/O. But some people have an actual allergy to deodorant. More specifically, they’re allergic to one or a few of the ingredients contained within most deodorants, and exposure to that ingredient can be life threatening. For those suffering from a deodorant allergy, there is a way out. You don’t have to be the stinky person forever and ever! Many prescription deodorants lack some of the more volatile ingredients that cause allergic reactions, and talcum or baby powder can also be used as a last resort. If you’re allergic to baby powder, then how did you even make it this long?!

8. Chocolate

Most girls can’t imagine a life without chocolate. It is indeed a weird form of allergy that unlike other allergies can result in pretty severe conditions and symptoms. The condition is quite rare but people who suffer from it can experience a number of effects within seconds of consuming or even smelling any form of chocolate. It should be noted that chocolates are made up of a number of different ingredients. The cocoa alone cannot be blamed for the reaction. Other ingredients like milk, sugar, nuts and lecithin can also cause it.

7. Money

Money allergies come from a negative reaction to the nickel used to make coins rather than a most unfortunate aversion to the supposed root of all evil. It is actually one of the most common causes of dermatitis, at least those that are allergy related, but the fact that nickel permeates many levels of existence renders the condition rather unusual. Jewelry makers, for example, must frequently construct wares without the whitish-silver metal to make sure that they can sell to all people and not just a select few. Rashes, blisters, itchiness, redness, bumps, and sudden dry skin may last for 12 to 48 hours after exposure, and may be exacerbated should the individual sweat during contact. Seek medical attention if the symptoms don’t go away.

6. Wood

Wood allergies can definitely be troublesome. While people are allergic to certain types of wood or sawdust, there are cases when people are allergic to any type of wood in many types of forms, whether it is dust or solid. Along with wood allergies comes the fact that you can’t touch paper, use a pencil, or be a lumberjack! The allergy can be so strong that it can cause the skin to look as if it was burned. In most cases wood allergies cause skin irritation, coughing, sneezing, and hives.

5. Water

It might sound stupid, but there are some people who are actually allergic of water. They can’t even think about allowing water to touch their skin. Just imagine a life in which you will never be able to take a bath. This condition is referred to as aquagenic urticarial. In this condition, water at any temperature can cause extreme itchiness and irritation on different areas of the skin. Sometimes the itchiness is so extreme that the person feels like ripping their entire skin in order to avoid this feeling. There is still no effective treatment available for overcoming this condition. Most dermatologists recommend that one should avoid taking a bath often as it is only going to be painful and irritating.
