Graphic Body Cam Footage Shows Killer Cop As He Murders An Innocent Unarmed Man

Salt Lake City, UT — On August 11, 2014 Dillon Taylor was gunned down in broad daylight by Officer Bron Cruz.
The confrontation happened because Cruz confused Taylor with a possible criminal in the area.
Taylor, his brother, and his cousin were exiting a 7-Eleven in an area where police were searching for a suspect who had allegedly been waving a gun around. These uninvolved young men allegedly matched the description.
When the three men exited the convenience store they were surrounded by officers and ordered to show their hands. Two of the men stopped and complied, Dillon Taylor, listening to music, kept walking.
Barely 40 seconds go by from the time Dillon is approached until he is shot by Cruz.
The body cam footage was released in September of last year, however, it stopped just after the shots were fired. Apparently the department did not want you to see what happened after as the full video was not released until this week. It shows the disturbing moments before and after this innocent man was gunned down by police.
“He couldn’t hear them, so he just kept walking. Then … they had guns pointed at his face. That’s when he turned off the music,” Taylor’s brother Jerrail Taylor told the SLC Tribune. “I saw them point guns at my brother’s face, and I knew what was going to happen.”

One officer told Taylor to get on the ground, while another told him to put his hands on his head.
“He got confused, he went to pull up his pants to get on the ground, and they shot him,” Jerrail Taylor said.

Now that the full video has been released, it’s disturbingly clear that nothing about this police shooting was justified. Nothing at all.
At 0:17, Officer Bron Cruz gets out of his vehicle. You will notice people confused by his presence.
At 0:22, Officer Cruz walks past two men who were friends with Dillon Taylor.
At 0:24, Officer Cruz walks behind Taylor, who has on a white T-shirt and is listening to music.
At 0:33, we see the officer has his gun drawn and is yelling at Taylor, who’s holding his sagging pants up and does not appear to hear Cruz.
At 0:36, the officer shoots Taylor. It would be fatal.
Starting at 0:41, you will notice the headphone cord coming out of Taylor’s pocket.
At 0:48, you will see that the headphones were clearly going up to Taylor’s ears.
At 0:52, the officer asks Dillon to “give me your hands,” but Taylor is already near death. His friends begin screaming and crying in the background.
At 1:03, the officer handcuffs Taylor.
At 1:48, the officer turns Taylor over, the headphones are visible, and the officer states “it’s clear”—meaning that Taylor was actually unarmed.
At 2:54, the officer turns Taylor completely over, keeping him handcuffed, and begins talking to him and trying to get him to talk. Taylor appears nearly dead and is completely covered in blood.
At 4:56, the officer is rummaging through Taylor’s pockets instead of providing any first aid.
It seems that after the officer discovered Taylor was unarmed, he pretended to care and provided a nice show for his body cam. However, he never once attempted to simply apply pressure to the gaping hole in Taylor’s chest.

In October, the DA ruled this murder “justified.”

The kid was no threat.
He was walking away from the cop.
The officer had plain view of him.
Did the officer see a weapon before he gunned him down? No, because he didn’t have one.
The officer is well protected with body armor.
The officer had his gun trained on him.
Even if the kid was the suspect, he should not shoot until there is an actual threat by the suspect.
This was death by assumption.
I guess I’ll just say it. Wear you pants like you’re a wanna be gangsta listening to your gangsta rap too loud to hear a policeman giving you an order, then make a quick move to pick up your drawers and you’re probably gonna get shot. Don’t care what color you are, not taking the police side either. Just pointing out the obvious, don’t give anyone an excuse to put one in you.
Shoot a Kid and then Hand cuff him while he lay bleeding to death, that’s just de humanizing, and Low, i hope this cops get’s what he deserves, He’s earned it, How can you help someone after you shoot them with their hands cuffed behind their back, their not there to help.
Can’t wait for the day that another criminal pigs son or daughter is slaughtered just like this by the hands of one of them. Notice that he called for emergency, yet dispatch did not and only later asked if they needed a unit. Mr Pig, rot in hell. Why didn’t you or you shot him in the leg instead of head shots or for the heart? You swine will all be getting revenge placed on you once Martial Law starts because you will all be wiped out by its citizens you performed your ciminal actions.

Interesting, the first three sentences of the article establish that the headline is a lie.
The word “murder” has a definition, maybe the author should look it up before making accusations. It is understandable that the ignorant protestors throw the word around, but anyone wishing their article to be taken seriously should at least try to use words in a coherent fashion.
Next time you include “murder” in the headline, please provide at least some semblance or evidence of murder in the article itself.
It was murder or should we use the term “Execution” to please you.

Another procedural issue that has grave implications for anyone in the area, suspect or not…
Why did the police say ONLY “shots fired” instead of clearly indicating that it was only an officer that fired a weapon?
Leaving out that critical information puts EVERYONE in the area at substantially increased risk as cops subsequently arriving on scene come in expecting multiple suspects to be armed and firing weapons. The responding officers will be emotionally primed, likely have their weapons drawn, and on a hair trigger for any “suspicious” movements by anyone in the area. That’s a recipe for unrecoverable mistakes.
Seems irresponsible at the very least.

I’m usually against the death penalty, but this F***ING COP deserves to get it for shooting an unarmed kid who wasn’t even the one they were looking for! Did they ever find the real criminal? This is not a racial issue, its a stupidity issue. Once shot the kid was not a threat! His focus should have been to keep him alive! It should not matter what he was listening to and that he had to hold his pants up. What if the person was deaf? Would they do the same thing? They had no way of knowing if he was deaf, hard of hearing, or not paying attention.
We need to force the retesting all cops for continued suitability for their job, and fire all who fail. This should be done once every so many years or when a situation occurs that warrants retesting. We also need to make sure that they are tested by an independent body of experts that are not part of law enforcement, the union, and/or the courts. This body of experts should be rotated routinely and their ruling is final.
I am sick and tired of seeing this same scenario play out, in the news time and time again. Cops are not GOD, nor are they a judge, jury, and executioner. Although many think they are.

Or a deaf- mute? Or blind? Or mentally impaired in such a way that they just can’t concentrate long enough to comply. There are many very functional people with disabilities just like these that are on the street every day…..that could end up in a situation just like this……
The abusive, alcoholic parent attitude of “Do it NOW or I’ll shoot” that cops have been aiming at the general public over the past couple of decades has got to end.
But I fear the catalyst for its demise. And I fear the result of not having officers who cannot/will not do a dangerous job–afterward.
Sadly I saw the action of a rebellious young man that cost him his life…. Had he obeyed the officer he most likely would be alive today.
