Texas And Other Conservative States Might Leave The Union And Form A New Union After Supreme Court Goes Gay

Here is an excerpt from the original Texas Declaration of Independence:
When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived, and for the advancement of whose happiness it was instituted, and so far from being a guarantee for the enjoyment of those inestimable and inalienable rights, becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression.

When, long after the spirit of the constitution has departed, moderation is at length so far lost by those in power, that even the semblance of freedom is removed, and the forms themselves of the constitution discontinued, and so far from their petitions and remonstrances being regarded, the agents who bear them are thrown into dungeons, and mercenary armies sent forth to force a new government upon them at the point of the bayonet.
When, in consequence of such acts of malfeasance and abdication on the part of the government, anarchy prevails, and civil society is dissolved into its original elements. In such a crisis, the first law of nature, the right of self-preservation, the inherent and inalienable rights of the people to appeal to first principles, and take their political affairs into their own hands in extreme cases, enjoins it as a right towards themselves, and a sacred obligation to their posterity, to abolish such government, and create another in its stead, calculated to rescue them from impending dangers, and to secure their future welfare and happiness.
The U.S. Supreme Court struck down bans on same-sex marriage in a historic 5-4 ruling. The justices ruled that states cannot deny gay men and lesbians the same marriage rights enjoyed for thousands of years by opposite-sex couples.
Speaking with reporters right after a tea party rally in Austin, Gov. Rick Perry stated Texas can leave the union if it wants to.
“Texas is a unique place. When we came into the union in 1845, one of the issues was that we would be able to leave if we decided to do that,” Perry said. “My hope is that America and Washington in particular pays attention. We’ve got a great union. There’s absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, who knows what may come of that.”
Talk of secession is in the air. The White House this week verified that residents in all fifty states had submitted petitions asking to depart the union. Will the last one remaining please turn out the lights?
Residents in 7 states, all in the former Confederacy, submitted more than 30,000 signatures each – enough that some hapless bureaucrat or intern will now have to take a look at their petitions.
The news comes 150 years after the Civil War, and just in time for the Supreme Court Going Gay
It’s only a few years since Texas governor Rick Perry hoisted a rhetorical secessionist flag in response to Obamacare.
In the last few years, anti-federal “10th Amendment” resolutions, emphasizing the primacy of states’ rights versus those of the union, have passed the legislatures of 12 states in the South and West. In 5 states, the governors signed them, too. (The 10th Amendment to the Constitution says states’ rights come before those of the federal government. The last time anyone in Washington actually paid attention to it, the ink was still wet.)
Maybe it’s time to take another look.

As a Christian I believe the reason we don’t stand up in droves is because we have not been properly indoctrinated and therefore have failed to indoctrinate our children. I realize how that sounds, but what I’m talking about is the teachings of Jesus Christ. We have done a pretty good job of “love your neighbor” but a pretty lousy job of teaching them doctrine and how to use it. I’m not talking about being radical and blowing up abortion clinics. People who do that are Christians in name only, they have not been born again and do not know God. Our number 1 tools of the trade are prayer and the gospel. If we (all who claim the name) were living it out the way Christ taught us the church would look very different. As someone said in an earlier post, a little leaven corrupts the whole lump of dough…

Obviously JayWill cares nothing for the truth and facts. Texas does not have it in it’s constitution to secede, it does however have in the constittion to seperate into 5 states.
This is a commonly held perception. I, personally, don’t know if it is grounded in fact, but I was told by a former state senator of Texas that it does in fact have the right to split into 5 states, as you’ve pointed out. This would increase its power in both houses of congress should it maintain solidarity.
These very same Republicans in Texas don’t have any problems at all bending and twisting the constitution to suit their own needs for political and financial gains though.
If this ruling motivates states to secede then it is a good ruling…..
But as for the concept… my own thoughts on it are as follows: Let the fudge packing, bacteria ridden, disease spreaders create all the CONTRACTS with each other and the state that they want. That is ALL “US marriage” is… a contract between THREE parties…. the two suckers and the STATE.’
The state has more standing than the other two parties.. they asked for a license (PERMISSION from the state to commit an “act” that otherwise would be illegal – that is what ALL “licenses” are)….. therefore the state gets the “last word” when there is an altercation such as issues regarding children.. the state calls the shots.
And the state has RIGHTS to all the material goods that the contract produces.. thus the income taxes on joint filings, the death taxes etc…

The Supreme Courts entire existence is simply to determine Law, and make sure it is Constitutional. It was never intended to be Policy Makers of the Elite. We now have 9 unelected people issuing edicts to 330 million. The Constitution is officially dead.
Interpret the law, yes. And this decision was not an edict. It was a reversal. It was a reversal, not only of what the same court has decided before, but of what almost every court has ever decided about marriage since before there was such a thing as courts.
It’s laughable too since in a case earlier this week, Kimble v. Marvel Entertainment, this same court said this:

While State succession is certainly possible for Texas, I propose the following to all living beings who reside on this landscape to exercise their free will to its fullest and permit no government entity to reside over, dictate to nor administer how you will live your life.
