Ok people, you did read it correctly. There was a trade pre-negotiated and ready to be implemented. However, once Obama’s State Department showed up to the table, they nixed the deal.
Why?
Because the goal was NOT to BRING AMERICANS HOME. It was to empty Gitmo.
As you can see in the video, the original trade was to include ONLY one criminal and NOT anybody within the confines of Gitmo. They were going to trade a Taliban drug dealer back to his Clan and in return America would receive 6 Americans.
But no! Obama wanted to get rid of the 5 worst criminals in Gitmo and in return only get a traitor in Bo Bergdahl.
If you are not aware, Bo Bergdahl has been charged formally for desertion and faces multiple years in jail and/or death.
So as you can see, Obama has made another huge mistake.
This was all so Obama could keep a campaign promise of closing Gitmo. Obama could care less about the safety of America and/or the Americans living in captivity around the world. He only cares about being able to say:
“Since there is no longer any dangerous criminals in Gitmo, we might as well just empty it out and close its doors.”
The above quote is fictitious so you know. But it is in my opinion, exactly what he and his administration think.
