China Building The World’s Largest Radio Telescope

China was constructing the world’s largest radio telescope that will explore the origins of the Universe and search the skies for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence.
It was located in southwest China’s Guizhou Province,the Aperture Spherical Telescope known as “FAST” is being constructed on a naturally formed bowl-like valley which was far away any town or city to achieve decent levels of “radio silence”.
The dish measures about 500 meters wide (1,640 feet) in diameter and being equipped with 4,450 panels shaped like a triangle with side measuring 11 meter (36 meter) long,which can change their positions through connected wires and parallel robots and their position can be adjusted with the accuracy of 1 mm …. http://www.wordlypost.in
