Dr. Ron Paul Releases New Book: Swords Into Plowshares – Exclusive Liberty Rising Radio Interview

Karl Rove once infamously quipped, “We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality.” Indeed, with over 700 military bases and operations in over 150 countries, there has never been as large of an empire as the American Empire.
Arguably, Americans are not predisposed to accept empire. In fact, most reject the notion – even if they cling to a fairy tale vision of U.S. history, unaware of the negative impacts of empire abroad and at home. Nevertheless, millions of Americans are waking up and arguably, no one in recent years has facilitated this re-awakening more so than Dr. Ron Paul.
After serving twelve terms in Congress and running three campaigns for president, one might think Dr. Paul might consider retirement to private life. Hardly! Dr. Paul now produces a daily video news brief, “The Liberty Report” and still manages to find the time to write a weekly column and pen a wonderfully insightful book.
Swords Into Plowshares: A Life in Wartime and a Future of Peace and Prosperity, makes lucid arguments why true peace and prosperity will only come to America when and if interventionist policy is abandoned. The book also spotlights how empire curtails civil liberties, while vastly distorting the American and global economy. A fiat, debt-based currency and financial system breeds bloated government and furthers crony capitalism.
The book is semi-autobiographical, making for a truly enjoyable read. Dr. Paul shares many of his early life experiences that shaped his philosophy and worldview. Readers familiar with Dr. Paul’s work will love the many anecdotes he shares. This is not a “wonky” policy debate work. It’s truly an enjoyable read!
