Greek police used tear gas and pepper spray on Thursday to disperse a crowd of far-left protesters who gathered outside an EU building in Athens. (July 2)
In the course of the demonstration 1 protester climbed onto the balcony of EU offices and unfurled a banner reading: “Forward people.”
The demonstrators had been trying to hang a ‘Vote No’ banner on a university building but were halted by the police, who fired a shot of tear gas to clear the area.
