Regarding Those Stunningly Horrific Planned Parenthood Videos…
For the sake of this column I won’t make it an issue of choice regarding access to abortion. Instead, let us focus on the alarmingly callous nature of what was caught on tape as Planned Parenthood officials sat eating lunch and drinking wine as they discussed the most brutal of procedures as one might talk about that day’s weather.
The organs in question are those belonging to viable fetuses – living, breathing, but unwanted human beings, ripped from the womb, cut up, and sold to the highest bidder.
I understand the need for human research, but in doing so we cannot become something less than human ourselves for that is a particularly dark and slippery slope from which there will be no return.
As a matter of public policy, everyone should be made aware that YOUR tax dollars are going toward supporting Planned Parenthood and this organ harvesting process. Defenders of the organization will say it provides non-abortion related health services to women. That is true. It is also true that over 90% of the services Planned Parenthood does provide ARE abortion related.
Of those abortions a disproportionate number are performed on minority women. Apparently black and brown lives actually don’t matter all that much to some. Not when their organs represent such a lucrative little side business, eh?
The impact upon poor and/or minority groups is in fact directly aligned with the philosophy of Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger. A devoted eugenics advocate, Sanger saw birth control not only as a service to women in need, but a way by which society could better its own genetic pool by eliminating the lesser/lower class human offspring. It was in fact the very same philosophy embraced by other eugenics advocates like Adolph Hitler.
