In The New York Times in late June, George Packer smeared Truthdig columnist Chris Hedges’ new book, “Wages of Rebellion: The Moral Imperative of Revolt.” In this Truthdig column published in early 2013, Hedges describes Packer as an intellectual “war booster” and “liberal hawk” whose support for the Iraq War preserved his journalism career.
