I started this blog because I was pissed off that newspapers generally ignored me when I wrote letters to the editor. Not that I wrote a whole lot of them. Once or twice a year something I saw in the Globe would rankle me enough that I would put pen to paper… or at least send an email to Ed.
Ed pretty much dismissed me out of hand.
Ergo, The View From Falling Downs.
I didn't really think anybody would actually read my blog – save for a few friends and relatives who would pat me on the head and say “good job.” Because they felt obligated to say “good job.”
Friends and relatives aside, this blog has 4-5 thousand people reading something the pot-addled hillbilly wrote, every month. Or one person reading it 4 or 5 thousand times, which would be a bit weird.
Anyway, what I know for sure is that there's way more folks reading about tolerance and resistance and power to the people than I could ever talk to in the course of a day.
So it's worth it for me.
