Attention B4IN Users, Changes To the Front Page You May Enjoy

(Before It's News)

There have been some changes to the Before It’s News front page to make our website more user friendly.

We have added the Alternative Editors Picks to the front page where “Most Recent” used to be, right below “Editors Picks”. Our goal is to be more user friendly for those of you who wish to read Sci-Fi, UFO, Paranormal, and other alternative news articles Mainstream Media never covers.

Then we moved “Most Recent” to the bottom of the “Top 50“ page where “Books” used to be. This allowed us to expand our “Most Recent” to 30 listings of the latest articles submitted to BIN from 20 listings shown previously.

Our goal is to improve your overall experience when you visit our website. These new changes should allow our users to find their favorite topics much easier. If you prefer Self Sufficieny, Health,Spirituality or other topics, please look to the categories furnished at the top of our “Top 50” page and there are a number of selections there to suit your needs.

We are always open to suggestions here at beforeitsnews.com. Please send any other suggestions you may have for us to improve our website to me at [email protected]

My goal is to give you the best experience possible when visiting our website. Remember, we are free to the public to share the news that is important to you.

Our web site is operated differently than what most people consider to be a regular news site.  This is a news hosting website and the stories that make it to the front page do so based on popularity.  Anyone is welcome to post a story. The door is wide open here at Before It’s News and I know of no other place on the internet where anyone can come in off the street, post a story and get it in front of a huge audience.  This concept of a truly free web site doesn’t really exist many places anymore.

We don’t screen ANYTHING on the site, except for Terms of Service violations and when people complain.

It’s You Tube for news.  That’s all it is.

Sincerely

Michael Roach

Editor in Chief

You need to add a section labeled “Top Stories of the week”. They go through so fast, so we don’t have time to keep up with them all, but if the top hits of the week were listed in a section that would be good. Then rotate them out as other “top stories of the week” take their place.

Hey Mike, while you’re at it how about mandatory comment sections……and 1 (one) ACTIVE ACCT for each url. No more disabled comment sections or sheeprider 1 ( He isn’t the only one) posing as about 30 other people. This would stop alot of confusion (for some). I’m sure most would agree with this.

    • Good point, NM156. If a contributor can’t handle criticism, or debate, they shouldn’t be posting. If this site is as pro-free speech as it claims to be, ALL authors should be made to allow for it.

  • ‘Edit’ button in the comments would be useful.

  • The ability to hide certain “Authors”/”Contributors” would be a nice feature.

  • All 3 comments are good ideas. I appreciate your feed back and will take these suggestions into consideration.

  • That page consumes much processor time !

    • i double checked . It s valid , only at the first click .

  • Looks great, good to have the weird stuff within easy reach.

I think my only beef recently has been with “You Won’t Believe What Happened When…” clickbait headlines, but it looks like they’ve been on the decline anyway lately for whatever reason.

    • At least a section of the website, maybe a category like Uncompensated Reporters, that bans the click whores, would be good, to sort some of this riffraff that junks up the story lists. Better still, move all the compensated click baiters to their own category, maybe some category like Red Light District, isolated from honest contributors or organic crazies. (Couldn’t hurt to move this King of Shamblahblah guy to his own area while they’re at it, an Asylum category?)

  • This is not a criticism of BIN — but just a suggestion.

Certain contributors and reporters clever at composing intriguing headlines oftentimes draw more hits than their stories deserve.

But all a reader can presently do is vote to “recommend” a particular post. There’s no option to vote “thumbs-down” on any entry that proves to be offensive, ridiculous, misleading, inaccurate, etc.

True, reader disappointment or disapproval can be vented in the “comments” section. But not all contributors allow reader comments.

It would be great if useless or idiotic stories could be voted down.

  • Full site search buy keyword or phrase. hard to find old posts.

  • There have been some changes to the Before It’s News….

True, it’s full of ZioNazi propaganda these days.

  • NO MORE DISABLING COMMENTS-
(Glenn C.) disables his comments section then goes on others’ and bashes them.

    KEEP THINGS CURRENT:
Headlining there is an update and finding out story is 10 years old (Paranormal Stories).

    KEEP BIBLES OUT OF IT:
Sick and tired of these bible-pushers copying and pasting 10 pages of the bible in their comments.

KEEP IT SHORT, PROVIDE A LINK:
Tired of Lavender Rose, and now Lyn, giving us 25 photos and 35 videos in their articles making us scroll for what seems like forever.

    DISALLOW CLIQUES:
Kick out these few people (with 29 aliases) and their gay little hissy fits amongst each other.

  • Fix the crashing issue with the site it reloads on average every 5 minutes.

  • Hey Mike. I know this isn’t a “send me your gripes” kind of post, but there are a few requests I’d like to make:

    1. Please take away the author’s ability to disable comments.
If the contributor can stifle the reader’s ability to comment, or discuss the article, then they have no business making the claims they do. Additionally, it makes BIN look like it condones the silencing of dissenting opinion.

    2. Please do away with articles, that only post a link to another website.
If the contributor is too lazy to actually write an article (or even copy/paste their work from their other site), then they have no business taking up space, here.

    3. Have those who demand Barack Obama’s birth certificate, produce their own.
This one, is just for fun….. But seriously. They should have to.

    Cheers
    Bill

  • How about using a legitimate comment service like Disqus where there are actually ground rules of etiquette and accountability?

  • Relatedly, how are we supposed to report TOS-breaking stories to you guys? The [email protected] address has been bouncing messages as “Mailbox quota exceeded” for months.

    • Geeper quote ~ “The [email protected] address has been bouncing messages as “Mailbox quota exceeded” for months.”

Sounds 100% legit . Have you seen the last editors account lately?

      /contributor/pages/0/004/bio.html

How long before the sidewalks fold right up and the “whole shebang” moves to China?

      • TCB

Any student of the Mysteries could tell you what the ‘acorn’ is all about.

So too can the fella that pasted up the image as his new avatar.

  • My request would be that you add your own print icons….two of them….
    1). Print only article
    2). Print article with comments

The new touch screens etc print all the ads to waste ink, paper, no one wants the ads, or only the article….at times there are superior knowledgeable comments, or searchable comments. Give us that choice.

This would be a valuable asset to your site….wish you would do this. Thank you.
