Cop Assaults Disabled-Veteran For Parking In Handicap Spot
Isaah James
Isaah James is a 28 year-old Veteran of the US Army. He is a combat veteran who has served two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. Unfortunately, James was on the receiving end of 3 separate IED’s during service, and is currently a 90% service-connected disabled veteran.
His disabilities, which included numerous lower-extremity injuries and traumatic brain injury, limits how long and how far he can walk. Rightfully so, James was given a disabled/handicapped placard which allows him to park in handicap accessible parking.
On the day this video was taken, James was shopping at a local Walgreens store when he decided to park in the handicap parking spot. Apparently, Officer G. Wilson, of the Riviera Beach Police Department, has a medical degree (sarcasm) and assessed James’ medical situation instantaneously. Officer G Wilson was able to determine that James did not look ‘disabled enough’ to park in that particular spot. (The RPD only lists one ‘Wilson’ on their roster. His name is Garry Wilson)
When the officer told James that he didn’t looked ‘disabled enough’, he had this to say:
You don’t look well enough to be an officer with your gut hanging over your (pants). I didn’t say shit to you.
James goes on to tell the officer that he can run his plates and that everything is legal. For whatever reason, this enrages the officer, who turns around and assaults James, yelling at him to ‘get the camera out of my face’.

This is another perfect example of cops not knowing the laws they are supposed to enforce. Officer Wilson tells James that “You are supposed to be indigent” to get a disabled placard. According to Florida Statutes, it states that a disability placard may be granted to a citizen who has a limited ability to walk due to medical condition, and that a licensed physician must certify such disability. Nowhere in the Florida statutes does it say a person must be ‘indigent’, as the officer claims.
As long as we are on the subject of correcting the all-knowing Officer Wilson, ‘Indigent’ means a person who is poor or needy, not disabled. Maybe the Riviera Beach Police Department should start issuing a copy of Florida Statutes, and possibly a dictionary, to future recruits.
I would also like to point out, in the State of Florida, assaulting a disabled adult (including Disabled Veterans), is a 3rd Degree Felony. I sincerely hope that Mr. James presses charges against the cop for assaulting him and for destroying personal property.

I certainly hope this veteran with the disabled permit promptly hires legal services to file lawsuit(s) with which he seeks civil and criminal action against the policeman and everyone remotely related to this incident.
The Cop was clearly justified in his actions. You see, the “Cop” was obviously suffering from twinkie withdrawal syndrome.Twinkie withdrawal syndrome occurs when certain addicted officers fail to get their required 15 minute interval oral twinkie injection. When this happens because the Officer is forced to miss his “fix” because he is out there keeping us safe and putting his own life in danger by checking handicap placards, it can cause erratic behavior and poor decision making which the “cop” has been adjudicated NOT RESPONSIBLE for and which the person that caused the innocent “Cop” to miss his 5 min twinkie injection. Thereby the “Cop” has every right and DUTY under RULE OF LAW to punish the person responsible for this entire scenario in the first place. Whether that person broke a Law or even did anything wrong or even “suspicious” is irrelevant because it was their actions that caused the “Cop” to be placed in this position.
Fight ‘fire with fire’ when faced with an abusive, out-of-control cop by levying a personal injury lawsuit against ‘Mr or Ms Joe Smith’ and not ‘Officer Joe or Jane Smith’ or the City, State or Federal Bumfluck of Fairyland (although you could do so and take your chances in facing the ‘Blue Shield’, union and city attorneys immunity-crap).
That’s right, SUE the PERSON mano-a-mano, person-to-person for personal injury. And, the reason why is bc ALL cops (local, State and Federal, private hire mercs etc) are all required to carry and maintain a personal CASH BOND.
Additionally, by levying a personal injury lawsuit against the PERSON aka Mr/Ms Smith, you automatically REMOVE an abusive person’s use of City, State, Federal and police union attorneys and their deep pocket use of union dues and taxpayer monies to shield themselves and further fund their crud. Food for thought and action
Want to fight ‘fire with fire’ and help to extinguish police brutality in this country? Then, employ ‘fire with fire’ strategies in cases of police brutality. SUE the PERSON. The monetary settlement may be smaller and the effect, more lasting.
This needs to be realized by everyone, the entirety of the legal system is fraud….. the only ones with real arrest and detain authority is the US Marshall service, and the US Military. And correct the individual needs to be sued, (the person not the office) but go after the insurance company. Most important read their “Job Description” this will prove the lie of authority.

as a citizen I am furious that this disabled veteran was harassed in this manner…
as a decorated combat veteran, I am beyond the red line!!!
