Debate forum should be revealing as well as entertaining
The top 10 candidates — based on recent national polls — include Businessman Donald Trump, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.
Not making the cut for participation in the first forum — ranking 2 percent or less in the polls — are technology CEO Carly Fiorina, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, former New York Gov. George Pataki and most recent entrant former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore.
The two-hour event will be carried live on Fox News, Thursday, Aug. 6, at 6 p.m. (Arizona time). Three of the network’s hosts — Bret Baier, Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace — will moderate the debate.
