Police have killed over 100 people in the month of July alone and now they want sympathy because an officer was killed during a traffic stop? Seems to be the case with Officer Sean Burton who was accosting a passenger in a vehicle that was parked ‘illegally.’ According to WHVQ-Fox 13 Memphis:

33-year-old officer Sean Bolton was shot while conducting a traffic stop in in the Parkway Village area of Memphis by the occupant of the vehicle.

The report states that a call came in just before 9:20 p.m. by a citizen at the crime scene, using Bolton’s radio, requesting additional officers to be dispatched to the area of Cottonwood and Perkins because the original cop had been shot. Bolton was taken to Regional One hospital in critical condition, where he later died from several gunshot wounds.

If Officer Bolton had minded his own business he would still be alive today, right? Isn’t that the kind of rhetoric police, and CopSuckers, spew about the innocent people killed everyday at the hands of police? Is that not what’s being said of Samuel Dubose in Cincinnati when he was shot point blank by Ray Tensing? Why is it that when we talk about “the suspect” no one cares what you say, but when it’s in regards to the police – folks lose their damn minds. It’s the same thing if you ask me.

Yet, in typical police state fashion, police are hot on the trail of Tremaine Wilbourn, the man who shot Burton. Yet, it took days to indict and arrest Tensing – without a manhunt. Memphis Police Director Tony Armstrong had this to say at a press conference:

This undated photo released by the Memphis Police Department shows Tremaine Wilbourn. According to authorities, Wilbourn is a suspect in the fatal shooting of Memphis Police Officer Sean Bolton during a traffic stop, Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, in Memphis, Tenn. (Memphis Police Department via AP)

“He’s a coward,” Armstrong said of Wilbourn. “You gunned down, you murdered a police officer, for less than 2 grams of marijuana. You literally destroyed a family.”

Maybe Tremaine wasn’t being a  coward, but was fighting for his life. The point is that with all the killings by police going on these days one might expect this kind of retaliation or defensive maneuvers by the people who are threatened with the same acts of violence by the police on a daily basis. Leaving the real question, yet to be answered, “how many more must die before you care?” Traffic stops, petty drug crimes and vehicle malfunctions are not a reason for anyone to be killed. Not a ‘citizen’ or a cop. It’s time we address the reasons why lives are being lost at such an alarming rate.

  • The ‘War on Drugs’ should be blamed for this officer’s death.
