A United Express flight from Charlotte to Chicago made an emergency landing in Indianapolis on Sunday morning after passengers reported problems with cabin pressure.
United Express Flight 5919 fell 10,000 feet, according to the Indianapolis Airport Authority.
The rapid descent took place over Kentucky, near the Ohio state line, and lasted about five minutes, according to flightrader247.com.
The plane landed safely in Indianapolis at 8.30am.
According to NBC news, the issue became noticeable following complaints from passengers.
‘Some passengers were complaining of headaches and ear problems so they diverted to Indianapolis,’ Jeff Dutton, Communications Manager at Indianapolis Airport Authority, said.
The passengers were assessed at Indianapolis airport.
No one was taken to hospital.
A spokesman for ExpressJet, the operators of United Express, said they are looking into what happened.
