For about the last month, PlanetXnews.com has been under targeted attack by a person or group.
It began with numerous site crashes. And when the site wasn’t crashing, it was loading very slowly, making the user experience almost unbearable and also making it incredibly difficult to post articles.
On August 6th, we posted a poll question asking when Planet X will arrive. The first two days the results were what you might expect readers of PlanetXnews.com to give: the majority answered 2015, less answered 2016 and still less answered that it would be either less or more than five years from now. A surprising number of people seemed to answer that it was only in your dreams, which was the last choice in the poll.
What happened over the next three days was nothing less than shocking: Well over 500 votes were cast in favor of the only in your dreams option. Ask yourself, is it logical to think that 70% of readers of a site devoted to reporting on Planet X and its effects on Earth, weather and space would think it doesn’t exist?
And guess what else happened after those votes shot way up? The site began crashing again.
We added security measures, followed recommendations on how to speed up the site and tried to work around it but it didn’t help and became unbearable, so we left our shared hosting provider and paid more money to move to a Virtual Private Server at a company with a stellar reputation.
Everything went great for the first two days. Then we shared this video exposé about one person’s opinion that every space mission from Apollo to the present is a hoax and totally fake.
