Bubbles Always Burst: The Education of an Economist

The topics that interested me most as a budding economist—the dynamics of debt, how bank lending inflates prices, and how an economy’s surplus income is absorbed by finance, insurance and real estate sectors—were not taught in university departments. To learn about them I had to go to work for banks.
