(Before It's News)

An elderly lady named Mary walked into the Lake Arbor Police Station on Monday completely focused on the one thing she wanted – hug a police officer, any police officer.

“[She] was extremely upset about the recent loss of so many officers across the country,” the department wrote on their Facebook page.

20-year veteran of the force, Chris Steiner was the one to fulfill her request and later talked with local media about the incident, which was captured when the dispatchers had the foresight to grab still shots from the security cameras.

“It’s nice to be on the positive side of things,” Steiner said. “Sometimes you need to put something in the bank on that side after all we see on a daily basis. I go to almost every fatality that we have and every major crime that we have and it’s nice to get a hug as compared to looking over the trauma,” he added.

In the end, everybody was happy – and teary eyed – but now Mary said she doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about because it was just a hug and that’s what she does.
