Malcolm Turnbull Ousts Tony Abbott, Will Become Australia’s New Prime Minister

The former lawyer, banker and journalist is set to be sworn in as the fifth prime minister in as many years after winning a vote of Liberal party MPs and senators by 54-44. Holding more moderate views than Abbott, notably on his support for climate change action and gay marriage, he is also one of the Australia’s richest politicians, with wealth estimated at around $132m.
