Germany and France have agreed that the EU should impose binding quotas on the numbers of migrants member states take in, Chancellor Angela Merkel said Thursday. As the EU is facing an unprecedented influx of migrants, it needs binding quotas to “share the burden,” she said, adding that it is “the principle of solidarity.” The chancellor spoke after a conversation with French President Francois Hollande. The economic power and size of countries “should play a role,” Merkel said. However, she said that without quotas, “we cannot solve this problem.” …. http://www.rt.com
