firearm-related deaths

While attacks on law enforcement have run rampant in recent months, bringing the fatality rate for police officers up 15 percent from last year, the number of firearm-related deaths among law enforcement has actually decreased by 16 percent since last year, while traffic-related incidents – both accidental and purposeful injuries – remain the number one killer of cops this year.

Texas tops the 2015 list for the most number of officer fatalities, followed by Louisiana, Georgia and Mississippi.
