In this top ten list we share the top 10 most influential survival and preparedness blogs. Although this may be our list, we did not pick these websites at random. They were selected after much research and in consultation with survivalist experts.
Lisa and her website are great resources for the modern survivalist prepper with a family. The term “survivalist” usually brings images of men clinging to their guns in the wilderness but The Survival Mom provides regular people with “family” oriented ideas. The blog has been active since 2009 and has over 1,500 articles.
The Survival Cache is a website that is dedicated to bringing you the most important necessary survival info. At Survival Cache, experts are constantly discussing survival strategies, reviewing survival gear, tactical gear and weapons so you can be well prepared. Their team has one of the most diverse backgrounds you will find, from special forces to rocket scientists to hardcore survivalists.
Fernando “Ferfal” Aguirre is unique in the sense that he has lived it (and is still living it). Easily pulling in our number 8 spot, Surviving in Argentina is about one man’s experience in a post economic-collapsed country and how he has had to adapt to the challenges and changes that came about. His insights provide a great model whereby many North Americans (and Europeans) can prepare for an impending economic collapse on their own soil.
If you are big on preparedness, then you’d know the importance of adding wilderness survival skills to emergency preparedness training. Even if you live and commute in an urban environment, the core principles you come to understand through practicing wilderness survival will translate and apply to just about any setting. One of the best websites on the internet that is related to wilderness survival skills is Ron Fontaine’s Survival Topics. Check it out…
Our number 6 goes out to Rourke’s Modern Survival Online, which aims to teach and inform the average person about how to prepare for difficult times ahead. With the understanding that not everyone has the funds to build and stock a “survival retreat”, Modern Survival Online’s hope is to help the every-day person become better prepared.
Survival Punk is a website that was created by James Burnette. Burnette takes a creative approach to self-reliance, applying a DIY way to survivalism without any of the fear mongering found on various other sites. The Survival Punk blog covers a huge range of topics on the subject, both success and failures along with a healthy bit of myth busting. He also provides a ton of dirt cheap creative solutions to common prepping needs. Check it out.
