Here are ten inventions that fortunately never made it into our homes:
10. Spray On Hair
The product first hit infomercials in the 1990s. The spray on hair product offered bald people a cheaper alternative. Unfortunately, it looked too much like paint in a can.
Looking more like the beekeeper’s hood, it ‘s clear to see why a shower can is more popular than this these days. The shower hood was invented in the 1970s.
The Readamatic Pacer was invented in 1963 and was designed to increase reading speed. It was unpractical and noisy and thereby not surprising that it did not sit well with consumers.
Cat Duster Slippers were invented to get rid of any dust around the house. The only problem is that cats tend to sleep a lot and would end up doing less dusting than the homeowner.
Marketed as the first portable video game console, Virtual Boy failed to live up to its projections and was discontinued just over a year after its release, which was in 1995. It is now supposedly considered a collector’s item. It was priced at US$180.
This ludicrous thing was invented in the 1930s. It was considered a space saving solution for families in crowded cities. It’s safe to say that it was pretty dangerous to put a baby inside….and was not very popular with consumers, especially at the time of the Great Depression.
