Wife of Glock manager sentenced for kickback scheme
The wife of a Glock sales manager has been sentenced to 12 months and a day in prison for concealing bribes from a Kansas firearms distributor, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.
Lisa Dutton, 43, of Acworth, Georgia, was sentenced in a Topeka federal court on Aug. 31 for the one count of conspiracy to which she pleaded guilty.
She admitted to assisting her husband, James “Craig” Dutton, 43, who was the assistant national sales manager for Glock, to receiving bribes from a distributor in exchange for special treatment in 2009.
Investigators said she created a company called Supreme Solutions LLC to receive payments from the owners of Global Guns & Hunting Inc., doing business as OMB Guns, to her husband.
In return, OMB was given preferential treatment over other gun distributors in the area and in turn was given more business in the form of government contracts and sales, investigators said. OMB also received confidential information on the Glock company.
According to the criminal indictment filed in June 2014, the Duttons were charged along with Welcome Wood and his wife Paula Ann Wood, who had a similar racket out of Florida. The owner of OMB, John Ralph, was also charged.
The four others involved will be sentenced later this year.
