Joe Miller, an Alaska conservative with a remarkable bio, has the keen ability to make us think with his bog, “ Restoring Liberty.”
Today we urge you to read a piece on his site by Randy DeSoto that exposes GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina. “Revealed: Exactly Who Carly Fiorina’s Charity Donated $500,000 to – It Will Disturb You.”
Then political analyst Bethany Blankley, a guest on Joe Miller’s radio show discusses Carly Fiorina’s praise of Islam in this speech, (full text) given two weeks following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Titled, “Technology, Business and Our Way of Life: What’s Next,” she ties courage, leadership, heroes, and “the questions of life and death” to business leaders learning from one of the greatest civilizations to ever exist: Islamic civilization. In the oddly timed speech delivered on September 26, 2001, Fiorina noted the accomplishments made by the Arab and Islamic worlds in advancing civilization, saying,
“This civilization was driven more than anything, by invention. Its architects designed buildings that defied gravity. Its mathematicians created the algebra and algorithms that would enable the building of computers, and the creation of encryption. Its doctors examined the human body, and found new cures for disease. Its astronomers looked into the heavens, named the stars, and paved the way for space travel and exploration.
Its writers created thousands of stories. Stories of courage, romance and magic. Its poets wrote of love, when others before them were too steeped in fear to think of such things,” Fiorina added
In dark and serious times like this, we must affirm our commitment to building societies and institutions that aspire to this kind of greatness. More than ever, we must focus on the importance of leadership –- bold acts of leadership and decidedly personal acts of leadership,” Fiorina concluded.
Fiorina doesn’t get any better with the passage of time. We recently posted, “ Carly Fiorina unmasked as McCain, Hillary supporter,” which includes this illuminating video showing Fiorina heaping praise on both John McCain and Hillary Clinton. Fiorina served as economic adviser to, and high dollar campaign bundler for, John McCain and gives rave reviews to Hillary Clinton.
While it’s undeniable that both Carly Fiorina and Marco Rubio are stellar orators, it’s time to pull back the curtain on their debating skills and see their slick campaign presentations as covering their actual left-of-center positions.
Conservatives can do better. Much better.
