EBOLA vs KROGER!!!
We have now entered an era of profit at all cost. Kroger continues to have record profits but at what cost?
Obviously at any cost!
Today a visibly very ill employee continued to work serving customers, exposing everyone to the unknown illness, including infants and the elderly, as well as other employees. I questioned about the need for medical attention. The employee informed me that according to company policy a written Drs. note was required if an illness required more than two days off from work.
The employee had taken 3 days off and did not obtain the required medical note and was forced to return to work.
The Nerve!!!
Normally the first 2 days would be paid, especially since this is a veteran employee. The 3rd day would not.
Management actually decided that none of the sick days would be compensated since the employee had the guall to take 3 days off. Read Punishment!
Why couldn’t management at the store level make a common sense decision and send the employee home and to the Dr.?
Enter EBOLA…with this type of punishment towards physically symptomatic illness evident in an employee the conditions are ripe for a full blown epidemic. These employees do not have a high level of compensation and losing any income is serious, therefore they will go to work Regardless of how ill they are.
The Restrooms would really be interesting and a perfect incubator.
It is easily transmitted through bodily fluid. So the ill employee could contaminate paper currency, bags, receipts, food and merchandise. Some employees are very involved in food preperation, prepared meals for lunch and dinner, meat products, and fresh unwrapped produce.
Shout out to Kroger..Shame on You!
