(Before It's News)

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence termed a National Rifle Association ad filmed by former SEAL and “Lone Survivor” Marcus Luttrell– posted on Sept. 11– as “Islamophobic.”

Texas-born Luttrell received the Navy Cross and Purple Heart for his actions facing Taliban fighters in Afghanistan in 2005. Immortalized in a book turned-movie, Luttrell has been outspoken on gun rights and appeared in the NRA’s Freedom’s Safest Place series in September alongside other well-known Second Amendment advocates Oliver North, Dana Loesch, and Milwaukee County Sheriff David A. Clarke.

“I am an American, free-born and free-bred, and I will call you out for who you are,” says Luttrell in his spot, posted by the NRA online on September, 11, 2015. “An Islamist extremist who would kill me for my beliefs. You don’t intimidate me.”

Although the ad has been released for a month, the CSGV waited until October 15 to put Luttrell, and the NRA, on blast for it.

“I am the National Rifle Association. And I am blatantly Islamophobic,” reads a post by the group to their Facebook page. “So much for religious liberty!”
