Thousands of people have staged a demonstration in Jordan to denounce the Israeli acts of aggression against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the Old City of al-Quds (Jeruslem), and demanded an end to diplomatic ties with the Tel Aviv regime.
On Friday, nearly 2,000 Jordanians converged near the Israeli embassy in the capital, Amman, waving national and Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against Israeli provocation at the al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds. The demonstrators also set the Israeli flag aflame.
Deputy Secretary General of the Islamic Action Front political party, Ali Abu Sukkar, said people should not remain silent in the face of escalating attacks against Palestinians in al-Quds.
“Al-Aqsa is a line of blood, and not just a red line. Our people support the al-Quds Intifada,” he said.
Sukkar added that Palestinians have proven over the years that despite their lack of weapons and Israel’s heavy crackdown, they are still able to “stab the heart of the entity.”
