MYSTERY SPACE JUNK WILL HIT EARTH ON NOVEMBER 13TH

Nature magazine reports scientists have discovered a piece of space debris that is set to plummet toward Earth on Nov. 13th.

The object will mostly burn up in Earth’s atmosphere as it gets closer to us.

Whatever’s left is expected to land in the Indian Ocean, roughly 40 miles off the coast Sri Lanka, at 6:20 a.m.

It’s about three to six-and-half feet wide and possibly hollow. It’s not clear how old the object is–or where it came from–but scientists are confident it’s manmade.

It was initially found by the Catalina Sky Survey in 2013, and discovered again through a telescope this month.

Bill Gray, an astronomy-software developer who has been working with NASA to keep track of the object, claims if there is an impact it will not be far-reaching,

but “I would not necessarily want to be going fishing directly underneath it.”
