Mantilla says it came to a head, when police filled the street after one of his neighbors shot a burglar.
We spoke with the victim, who did not want to go on camera. He did let us take video inside his home showing the window the suspect broke to get inside.
He told us he was sleeping on the couch when he heard a loud crash. The details were blurry, but he says they locked eyes before he fired one shot and hit the suspect.
