Valdez’ increasingly bizarre rants provide clues

In Monday’s post, “Does nutty column signal Linda Valdez’ swan song?” we speculated that the local newspaper’s far left editorial writer Linda Valdez might be considering the early retirement package being offered to long-term employees. Her typical seething screeds have veered into hysterical rants, screeching at readers, and giving credence to the idea of her takin’ the money and gettin’ outta Dodge.
It was easy to mistake her bizarre “zombie” column as the most solid evidence of her imminent departure. Who knew there’d be even more outrageousness with her name attached the very next day? Now she wants to “Repeal the Second Amendment.” Seriously.
We already knew of her desire to collapse the First Amendment on the heads of conservatives, so her liberal swerve into Constitution shredding shouldn’t come as a surprise. It’s her blatant arrogance as she kicks sand in the face of readers that gives rise to the notion that her hand is outstretched.
