(Before It's News)

Republican presidential front-runner Dr. Ben Carson seems to lack the evidence to support some of his accounts as new biographical inaccuracies are being revealed.

Carson claimed that as a junior at Detroit’s Southwestern High he heroically protected a few white students after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by hiding them in the biology lab, where he worked part time.

Yet, The Wall Street Journal interviewed a half-dozen of Carson’s classmates and his high school physics teacher, but could not confirm this tidbit.

Here’s Why Ben Carson Can’t Win the Republican Nomination

Ben Carson may be flying high in the polls for now, but he can’t win the Republican nomination.

That’s according to more than 80 percent of Republicans in this week’s POLITICO Caucus, a survey of the top strategists, operatives and activists in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada.

A South Carolina Republican predicts that “Questions are going to get tougher and tougher which should hopefully expose his lack of depth.”

Ben Carson claimed that biblical figure Joseph built Egypt’s Great Pyramids to store grain, contrary to popular belief that the pyramids were built as tombs for pharaohs, at a commencement address he delivered at Andrews University in 1998.

The Republican presidential candidate also noted that “various scientists” believe that aliens built the pyramids.

Video of the speech was posted online Wednesday by Buzzfeed News.

Ben Carson’s campaign said Friday that the surging Republican presidential candidate never applied to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, contradicting a key detail of Carson’s past amid continuing questions about other well-known stories of his upbringing.

Politico reported that West Point has no record of Carson applying to or being offered an appointment to the military service academy.

He writes in his book “Gifted Hands” that he was “offered a full scholarship to West Point.” Carson campaign manager Barry Bennett told Politico said, “He was introduced to folks from West Point by his ROTC Supervisors.” “They told him they could help him get an appointment based on his grades and performance in ROTC.

He considered it but in the end did not seek admission.” The new revelation comes as other well known tales of Carson’s youth have come into question, including his story about almost stabbing a friend in his early teens.
