Ken Bennett, Paul Babeu relocate to run in CD 1
Ken Bennett the guitar strumming politico resigned his position as chairman of Republican Legislative District 24 in Phoenix earlier this week to devote more time to his candidacy for the U.S. House in Congressional District 1. Bennett, a former Secretary of State and failed 2014 gubernatorial candidate has recently worked as a lobbyist for the state court system followed by a stint with SDB Contracting Services — but its the political arena that he craves.
The longtime Prescott resident has moved frequently of late as he sought various political posts. Most recently, he has taken up residency in Maricopa, AZ as he readies for his latest adventure.
Though he announced his intent to seek the congressional seat in July, Bennett’s congressman website remains oddly devoid of any information, though it does have the all-important donation page.
Other Republicans in the race are Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu, who strolled the Arizona/Mexican border with John McCain in 2010, aiding McCain’s deceitful ‘complete the danged fence” reelection charade. Immediately after the ballots were counted, McCain and Jeff Flake formed the “Gang of Eight” pro-amnesty cabal in which they colluded with the most liberal of Democrats. Marco Rubio, now a presidential candidate, was an eager participant.
Now Babeu has also moved to facilitate his CD 1 race. Only rancher and business owner Gary Kiehne actually has generational roots in the district.
The First Congressional District seat is open since incumbent Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick is running for the U.S. Senate, challenging McCain. Seeing Red AZ strongly supports conservative Dr. Kelli Ward in that crucial senate race.
