#MACtour Week 3 VLOG
The third week of the #MACtour was probably the best week so far as Ademo and I were starting to hit a rhythm of creating, editing and producing content. We had some great video ideas in the works and were producing a steady stream of content. Everything was clipping right along.
We got invited to a community meeting where Ademo talked about CopBlock and the idea that, “Badges Don’t Grant Extra Rights.” He also touched on how to use a camera to create objective records of police encounters and how CopBlock.org has multiple resources that anyone can accesses. After that we went to a few police stations in the Kansas City area and asked to interview the “good cops”. Unfortunately at every station we went to the “good cops” weren’t available. Not to worry though this is an idea that we will continue at every stop and eventually we’ll find a good cop.
Week 3 was also the week we started to get hints of trouble coming from Noblesville, Indiana. My girlfriend had called me to let me know about legal mail that had been arriving for me in California, mostly from private attorneys wanting my money. She was a little worried but Ademo and I laughed them off as a joke. We found out later that maybe we shouldn’t have been so flippant about the situation.
On October 16, 2015 Ademo was arrested around 11:30pm while we’re conducting a prank on local police, or social experiment. We created an opportunity for the police to provide us a service by taking a headlight out of “Forest” (Ademo’s Subaru Outback) and finding out if the officer would threaten us with a ticket, or change the headlight for us (ie; provide a real service). We were pulled over in Johnson County, KS for the headlight and not only did they refuse to change the headlight but they arrested Ademo for a warrantor a warrant out of Indiana.
After bailing Ademo out we made the decision to turn ourselves into the Hamilton county jail and pause the MAC Tour until our case in Indiana is completed – you can learn more about our charges in Indiana here.
As noted above, the #MACtour is currently paused, but we’re hoping to be on the road again by the end of the year. Until then you can keep up with us and our fight to stay out of a cage in Noblesville, IN here.
