(Before It's News)

Christine Jones, who lost the six-way Arizona GOP gubernatorial Primary Election to Doug Ducey by over 20 percent, tells the increasingly devoid of news daily she will not campaign for the 9th Congressional District in 2016. The Congressional seat is currently held by uber-liberal Democrat Kyrsten Sinema, warmly endorsed by the Arizona Republic in 2012.

Referencing CD 9, Jones said, “Although [it] appears eminently winnable, pursuing a seat in Congress at this time is not the highest and best use of my time.”

While she indicated she’d be open to looking at the race again in the future, Jones neglected to say how she’s currently making the “highest and best use” of her time.

We have to hand it to Christine Jones for contriving such a clever political strategy. Few would-be contenders would wait until a vulnerable congressional newcomer is more deeply entrenched before mounting a challenge. Ms. Jones obviously has a plan, as evidenced by her too-late-to-be-a-viable-contender, non-announcement braggadocio. She’s just holding it close to her vest.
