Snowden Blames U.S. Policies For Rise of ISIL
Former CIA contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden says the US policies should be blamed for the emergence of Daesh and other terrorist outfits in the Middle East.
In an interview with Swedish media, Snowden said the US drone program has created more terrorists than it’s killed.
He had similar views about ISIL terrorists saying there was no Daesh until Washington started bombing some countries.
Snowden also opened up about torture and black sites and said the revelations have forced the CIA to stop documenting the abuse.
He accused the United States of choosing to avoid embarrassment by hiding wrongdoings rather than fixing the problems.
Regarding mass surveillance, the whistleblower said even those who think they have nothing to hide should oppose the method used by the US spy agencies.
