TX: Brother of Owner Fires at Officer Breaking into House; Officer Fires Back

The officer, presuming the people were intruders, then forced his way inside, McManus said.

“He kicked the door in to make an apprehension and the person inside opened fire on who he thought was a burglar,” McManus said.

The officer fired back, grazing the man’s side. McManus said he was treated by EMS workers at the scene and refused a ride to the hospital.

It turns out both of them, according to McManus, were mistaken.
