VA: Armed Robber Shot by Armed Clerk

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) — An attempted robber got more than he bargained for Sunday night. Police said he was shot by the clerk he tried to rob.
The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. at the Quick Save convenience store on Chestnut Ave. near 26th Street. Around that time, officers on routine patrol were flagged down by a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He reportedly had a gun in his possession.
