(Before It's News)

The Firearm Blog went full on Spanish-American War and attempted to do a little running and gunning with the Springfield Krag rifle.

Adopted in 1892 from the Norwegian Krag Jorgensen rifle, the ‘Krag had a bolt-action that was smooth as silk but loaded through an awkward side gate. After running up against Spanish Army regulars in Cuba equipped with Mausers, the U.S. Army lost its love for the .30-40 caliber Scandinavian bolt gun and adopted their own shameless version of the Mauser as the 1903 Springfield.

Overall though, Alex seemed like they were able to do his loaner, made in 1894, justice.
