The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department confirmed deputies are responding to an active shooter situation involving one to three suspects.
Details are still scarce, but authorities asked residents to avoid the area of Orange Show Rd and Waterman Avenue, the sheriff’s department said.
Local media reports the specific location is the Inland Regional Center, a medical facility that caters to those with developmental disabilities.
The San Bernardino Fire Department is reportedly responding to “20 victims” but that figure is unconfirmed. Coincidentally, the county fire department drilled for an active shooter situation on Nov. 30.
