(Before It's News)

F/A-18F Super Hornets from the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) this week apparently couldn’t sleep so decided to start their first strikes against ISIS in the dark.

The footage, released by the Navy on Tuesday, shows Hornets from the famed “Jolly Rogers” of Strike Fighter Squadron 103 (VF-103) conducting their first launches in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Moving around a flight deck at night while 32,000 pound strike jets catapult into the black sky on afterburner is a pucker factor but the bluejackets take it in stride like any other day at the office.

And note the ordnance under wing to include smart bombs and AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles just in case there is an unfriendly in the skies over Syria. You can see the redcoats doing their work loading ordnance below, to include cranking in a lot of very live 20 mike mike for the hungry Hornets’ cannon.

Remember, this holiday season, every time a catapult launches, an ISIS alumni gets his wings.

Talk to me, Goose!
