Death toll from severe weather in US rises to 42 – YouTube
At least 42 have died as a massive storm continues to batter the southern and central parts of the United States.
Tornadoes that swept through the Dallas area left at least eleven people dead and tens of thousands without power. Flights in and out of the transport hub have also been cancelled. Mississippi experienced the second highest death toll with ten confirmed dead. Days of tumultuous weather in the U-S have led to further deaths in the states of Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois. Meteorologists are warning of more heavy rains and thunderstorms as several states have declared a state of emergency. A combination of rain, snow, and high winds are expected to spread eastward. The storm comes as Americans are gathering to mark the Christmas holidays.
